MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Heather Irwin (CEO, Owner, Teacher, Photographer, Artist, Spiritual Coach, Reiki Master, Writer)

I’m Heather Irwin—educator, artist, and nature-driven soul behind Sol Feather Studio. At my core, I’m a teacher. Whether I’m in a classroom, behind the lens, or guiding a workshop, my purpose is to help others slow down, observe deeply, and reconnect—with themselves, their creativity, and the natural world around them. Seeing a different perspective gives others the chance to evolve and transmute themselves into who they are meant to be.
My work is rooted in a lifelong love for animals and the outdoors. After 15 years in the veterinary field, I followed a calling that felt both uncertain and deeply aligned—trading clinical spaces for open skies and creative expression. That leap shaped not only my career, but the way I show up in the world: with curiosity, vulnerability, and a deep respect for life in all its forms.
Photography, for me, is more than an art—it’s a mindfulness practice. It teaches us to be present, to notice light, emotion, and connection in fleeting moments. Through my work with both people and animals, I aim to capture honest, grounded stories that reflect the beauty, resilience, and wonder of this world.
As an educator, I’m passionate about creating spaces where creativity feels accessible and meaningful. I guide my students beyond technical skills, encouraging them to trust themselves, develop their own voice, and find confidence in how they see and create. Whether through photography, art, or quiet moments in nature, I believe creativity is a powerful path back to ourselves.
Motherhood—especially raising twins—deepened that understanding in ways I never expected. It taught me patience, presence, and the courage to embrace the unknown. It reminded me that growth doesn’t come from having it all figured out, but from showing up anyway.
Everything I create—whether it’s an image, a lesson, or a shared moment—is rooted in one intention: to inspire others to live more authentically, stay connected to nature, and find beauty in both the wild and the everyday.
“Photography becomes more than an image — it becomes a mirror to the soul.”
